It's been a while

It's new year's day,not much has changed here, it's a little more peaceful than a couple months ago. I'll summarize the past 6 weeks or so; OK back in late November there was still notable activity going on and we just dealt with it like we do now. Since then I can honestly say that our internal stress level and everyday arguments have lowered significantly. Maybe that has something to do with all the activity and it's actually been a lot lower too, so it's noteworthy to acknowledge that the two might have something to do with each other.
That doesn't mean that there is no activity, it's just more spread out and unexpected. When I walk throughout the house, I really am not prepared for anything, I used to turn every corner with a recorder in my hand or at least have my guard up, now I don't need to do that. I've accepted that something is here and it's not here to hurt anyone.
Like yesterday, I went downstairs to check emails and drink my morning coffee. I was wearing my new shoes for my Uncle's funeral (To break them in) and they were extremely quiet. I was thinking to myself as I turned the corner, "Wow these shoes are really quiet, I hope I don't walk up on somebody", I looked into the room and over the bed I saw a complete figure of a person and it was perfectly still. The head was down, the knees were cutoff at the bed and it was up against the wall. The figure was pitch black, blacker than darkness. It was so black I could see it in the dark and when I cut the lights on it was gone. My eyes were already adjusted to the darkness because you have to walk about 15 feet to turn on the lights and when you turn a corner, the light switch is right there. So I stood there for maybe 20 seconds, absolutely in shock, trying to tell myself that I didn't see something and I heard in my ear, a long, slow nose sniffle. Like when you're sick and you try to breathe through your nose but it's too clogged up. I fucking freaked out, I tried to set my glass on the table while running out at the speed of light and when I was on the steps I heard the glass break. When I got upstairs I couldn't breathe, I noticed that my Dad was on the phone talking to my Uncle about paranormal activity.
When my Dad got off the phone, I asked him why he was talking about that and he said that a family friend (Mr. Reed) is experiencing a lot of crazy shit going on in their house. Come to find out my Uncle David (Who just passed away on 12-27-09) had left a box of belongings at Mr. Reed's house, the box was filled with items bought from an estate auction in Point Lookout, MD. All these items were dated from the Civil War and my Uncle David asked the Reed's to give the box to his Son (Dylan) if anything ever happened to him. So the Reeds were out in the garage and when they opened the box their garage door flew open, it's a wooden door on tracks and they said it almost broke the tracks it came up so hard. My Dad went on to explain all the activity they were experiencing and then I knew why he was sharing all the stuff that happened here. I don't like to speculate but this last experience really shook me to the bone and I like to list only the facts because people have a way of exaggerating when something amazing happens to them. If I had to make some type of connection, I would say that I saw my Uncle David. Maybe he was showing me that he was looking in a box or something. All I know is that when I saw David on the last day of his life he was sniffling and I think that is a pretty big coincidence.
